Install Downloader

  1. 1.From the home screen, open Find and then Search.
  2. 2.Type Downloader and select it.
  3. 3.Choose the orange Downloader icon and press Get.

Give Downloader permission to install apps

Where the switch lives depends on the age of the stick.

  1. 1.Newer sticks: Settings, then My Fire TV, then About. Select the Fire TV Stick entry and press the centre button seven times. Go back once, open Developer Options and switch on Install unknown apps for Downloader.
  2. 2.Older sticks: Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, then Apps from Unknown Sources.
Tip. No Developer Options in the menu? The seven presses on the About screen bring it back. Amazon hid it in a software update.

In Downloader, enter the app address from your WhatsApp message and let it install. Any of these three:

In the player, choose the Xtream Codes login and enter the username, password and server address from your message. The channels and the guide load on their own.

Prefer to install from an app store? An Android box or Chromecast takes the same players from the Play Store, and a Samsung or LG TV or a Roku runs a player with nothing plugged in. Whichever you pick, read the channel list first.
